  • Danish eco activist is new T&E president

    Danish environmental activist Jeppe Juul has been appointed president of T&E’s board. He succeeds João Vieira who served in the role for over five years and and will remain on the board as vice president. The appointment was made at T&E’s January board meeting in Sofia.

    Juul (pictured) has been transport and energy policy officer at T&E’s Danish member, the Ecological Council, since 2009. He works mostly on EU-related transport issues as well as the EU’s integrated products policy, which covers ecodesign, energy labelling and green public procurement. Nationally he has led the Ecological Council’s campaigns on electrification and decarbonisation of transport. From Copenhagen he has supported T&E’s biofuels, cars, aviation and shipping campaigns.

    Having served as T&E’s auditor since 2012, Juul joined the board in 2016. He is also a board member of the Danish Consumer Council and serves on the complaints board for the .dk toplevel domain. In the past he has been a project manager on several national projects on carsharing, electric vehicles and transport behaviour change, and has also been national manager on several EU-projects.

    Juul, who holds a masters degree in social science and history, lives close to Copenhagen with his wife and two children. He cooks a lot but brews more than he drinks.
