Slow Sustainability
A new progress report on the EU’s sustainable development strategy shows only ‘modest’ progress, with transport’s achievements very limited.

Transport’s carbon emissions continue to rise, and the EU’s goal of shifting towards enviromentally friendly transport have not been achieved, says the report presented to environment ministers last month. The Commission says there have been significant policy developments, but these have not yet been reflected in concrete action.
