Set targets to electrify company car fleets, EU told
In this letter, 11 companies and organisations from the car leasing and e-mobility sectors call on the European Commission to require the elctrification of company car fleets.
The signatories ask Commission Vice-president Timmermans and Transport Commission Valean to propose a mandate for any company with a vehicle fleet size of 25 cars or more to purchase 50% of its fleet as zero-emission vehicles from 2025, and 100% by 2030. For vans and LCVs, any company with any fleet size should need to purchase 50% of its fleet as ZEVs from 2025, and 100% by 2030. These mandates could be set through new EU legislation. The letter comes ahead of the launch of the Commission’s Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy in December.
The signatories include lease management company Leaseplan, France’s e-mobility association Avere, power utilities association Eurelectric, and T&E.
