The Commission has begun a consultation on whether the 2002 Environmental Noise Directive is doing its job.

Last year Brussels published an assessment of the directive and put forward some recommendations, including the possibility of EU-wide noise limits and noise labels for road vehicles and houses. The consultation runs until 25 September.
