Green 10 Statement on Delay to EU Air Quality and Marine Thematic Strategies
Two environmental thematic strategies due to be presented by the European Commission in July - air quality and marine protection - have been officially removed from the EU agenda and postponed until an unspecified date. The decision has been taken by EU Commission President Barroso. The 'Green 10' group of environmental NGOs in Brussels reacted with a letter to the European Commission's President.

“Public health and environment policies are among the most supported actions at European level. This is a time for global EU leadership on environmental issues and an excellent opportunity to reconnect the EU with European public opinion, an opportunity that the Commission is throwing away with its decision to postpone action”.
