How does car taxation compare across Europe?
This tool, created on the basis of T&E’s 2022 report The Good Tax Guide , compares systems of car taxation across European countries. The comparisons cover 31 countries, seven forms of taxation (acquisition tax, purchase grants, ownership tax, benefit-in-kind tax, VAT deduction, depreciation write-off and energy excise duty) and two registration types (private and corporate).
Are you looking to understand how purchase grants differ in France and Croatia? How is benefit-in-kind tax applied in different countries? Which country charges the highest acquisition tax ? Our tool will have the information.
