NGOs call for an ambitious Euro 7 standard

T&E, along with a number of other NGOs, has written to the European Commission asking them to reaffirm their commitment to the Euro 7 process and calling on the Commission to develop an ambitious Euro 7 proposal including the following key aspects:

  • As a priority, alongside reductions of emissions limits to the lowest level based on the best technology today, as suggested by Commission consultants, Euro 7 must be aligned with Europe’s Green Deal and zero emissions agenda.
  • Testing, approval and certification of vehicles must ensure that emission limits apply under all possible driving conditions.
  • Vehicles must be required to meet the emission limits throughout the entire lifetime of the vehicle.
  • All pollutants which are harmful to human health and the environment must be regulated at the tailpipe.
