At issue is the future regulation of biofuels in Europe. The Commission is withholding time sensitive and critical environmental information necessary for meaningful public
participation in biofuel policy-making. In the process, it is setting a dangerous precedent that European Union (EU) institutions may delay the release of documents until after a policy decision has been made, striking at the heart of democracy. With this case, ClientEarth, Transport & Environment, European Environmental Bureau, and BirdLife International seek to uphold their rights to access Commission documents.
