Bicycle subsidies
The Italian government is making €8.75 million available to encourage bicycle use.
The money, available during 2009, can be used to subsidise the price of a bicycle or e-bike by up to 30%. Italy becomes the first state to offer such encouragements, although some German cities have offered similar incentive schemes.
