T&E response to the Climate Law consultation

T&E responded to the Commission’s consultation on the upcoming climate law. Two files were included as a response. The first one is a response to the consultation, while the second one goes into more detail into one of the issues.

The first paper makes the following recommendations about the Climate Law:

1. Whole economy targets.

2. Net-zero vs. decarbonisation.

3. Intermediate targets and carbon budgets.

4. Protecting national targets in the Climate Action Regulation.

5. European Project Mechanism.

The second paper goes into more details on why the EU needs a European Project Mechanism and how it could potentially work.
