Jos is T&E’s first (and yet only) Senior Fellow, a part time independent advisor across a wide range of topics, but all focused on one central theme: how can Europe accelerate the electrification of its economy, whilst not exchanging its dependence on fossil fuels from abroad for cleantech from abroad? Apart from T&E he also advises a range of other organisations and cleantech companies.
After nine years managing the transport division at CE Delft, a Dutch consultancy, he joined T&E in 2004 as Executive Director, and grew the organisation from a handful of employees to 28 in 2017. He then left for Tesla where he became Director for Public Policy and Business Development. In this capacity he was deeply involved in site selection, permitting and state aid applications for the European Gigafactory just outside Berlin, as well as the full suite of policy and regulatory affairs across EMEA. He left Tesla in 2024.
Jos lives in Haarlem, Netherlands with his wife; with their three kids having left the house for studying there is time left for cycling, and for breaking the occasional bone in the process.
