[mailchimp_signup][/mailchimp_signup]The limit was introduced as a money-saving measure when the price of oil was around $125 per barrel. It resulted in an immediate year on year reduction of fuel consumption by 8.4% and saved Spain €450 million in oil imports. T&E’s Spanish member Ecologistasen Acción says the move is a ‘blatant demonstration of incoherence’.
