EuroICSA (T&E, Aviation Environment Federation, and Carbon Market Watch) caution that Europe must not commit to joining CORSIA before its potential effects are known, and before a full review of the scheme is undertaken – as required under European law. The letter rejects industry demands that Europe dismantle existing measures such as aviation in the EU emissions trading system – a call which is not only premature, but which would substantially weaken European climate ambition.
