Call for an action plan for future proofed grids
T&E and ChargeUp Europe call upon the European Commission for a change of pace in the governance of European power grids
Charge Up European and T&E are making a joint call for future proofed grids drafted with technical input from the Regulatory Assistance Project (RAP), asking for:
- Faster, more transparent grid connection procedures, especially for grid connections that are essential for the energy transition (e.g. charging infrastructure).
- The strengthening of flexibility, especially via the usage of EVs as ‘batteries on wheels’/energy storage to integrate and make most out of renewable power generation
- Grid operators (via national regulatory authorities) to make sure that they take into account the millions of EVs, when planning their future grid networks.
