Worst lobbying award for Abengoa
A bioenergy company that inaccurately quoted T&E in its advertising has won the 2008 Worst Lobbying Award.
Abengoa Bioenergy and two other firms were voted joint-winners for trying to influence EU debates by claiming that biofuels were sustainable in a way that they are not. T&E has filed a claim for ‘misleading advertising’ against Abengoa with the British Advertising Standards Authority. The annual Worst Lobbying Awards are organised by four European NGOs.
