Revision of the EU ETS for aviation
T&E provided feedback to the European Commission’s Inception Impact Assessment for the revision of the Emission Trading System (EU ETS) rules for aviation.
This briefing highlights that the European Commission should ensure it defends the EU ETS as the main tool to regulate aviation emissions, and further strengthens its ambition, especially if it wants to guarantee aviation’s sustainable recovery post COVID19. T&E’s recommendation include making the EU ETS better and bigger, strengthening its key features while extending its scope.
