Extreme weather ‘more powerful’ than scientific research

The EEA researched what has proved most likely to trigger the adoption of climate action in 30 countries, and found that floods, droughts and storms are far more powerful than EU policies or scientific research.

 

Overall, the research found that detailed national adaptation plans had been adopted in 12 of the 28 EU member states, but more work is needed to turn plans into action.
