Transport use in non-OECD countries is expected to grow by about five times between 2000 and 2050, according to ‘Transport Outlook 2011’, a report by the International Transport Forum.

It says predicted improvements in fuel economy means CO2 emissions will rise less strongly than mobility, but global emissions from vehicle use in 2050 are still likely to be 2.5 to 3 times as much as they were in 2000.
