The Clean Ship is an integrated approach to sustainable shipping. Integrated has a double meaning. First of all, it means tackling all social and environmental costs from ‘cradle to grave’. Secondly, it means that a participatory process is needed to bring together various stakeholders who have a role to play in making this vision a reality. This ‘sketchbook’ gives the reader an idea of what the Clean Ship approach is all about.
