The Commission is in danger of giving in to US demands and changing the hushkits regulation, despite cross-party support for the regulation from the European Parliament. This would show that the EU can stay in line with its own objectives, stated under the Amsterdam Treaty; and that the European Parliament can use its powers effectively.
