Switzerland this month removed its taxation on biofuels such as ethanol to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the country's transport.
Swiss companies will also be allowed to import bio-ethanol, which until now only the government has been able to do. The revised law also sets sustainability criteria for biofuels, including a requirement that production must not cause damage to rainforests or biodiversity.
