Carlos joined T&E in January 2015 after working for almost a year in Brussels at DG Climate Action in the European Commission and at the Spanish Permanent Representation to the EU. Previously he was mainly employed in the private sector as a climate change consultant, advising clients on the clean development mechanism, the EU emissions trading system and other carbon reduction programmes. He joined T&E’s energy team as a policy analyst and is currently focused on increasing the sense of urgency in the EU to tackle transport CO2 emissions.
Carlos studied environmental sciences in Seville and completed a masters degree in public administration at Columbia University. He speaks Spanish, English and Portuguese, and is taking the opportunity of living in Brussels to learn French. He loves outdoor activities, including climbing and swimming, although in Belgium he more often practices them indoors than he would in his native southern Spain.
