Celeste Hicks is Communications and Media Manager Clean Cities. She is responsible for the communications strategy of the organisation, promoting the brand in the European media and developing press contacts.

Before joining the team Celeste worked as a BBC World Service journalist in West Africa, and later as a freelancer. She has written three books, most recently was Expansion Rebellion: Using the Law to fight a runway and save the planet which tells the story of the fight against the plans for a third runway at Heathrow Airport in the UK. She has also worked as a media officer at Friends of the Earth and as a researcher at the UK Foreign Office.

In her (limited) spare time, she is the mother of three young boys, and volunteers for the clean air campaign group Mums for Lungs.
