Taking the train may in most cases be an environmentally better option than flying, but it may also be better for business travellers, according to a report by T&E’s member Transform Scotland.

The report ‘The Railways Mean Business’ says trains are more reliable and more productive for people needing to travel for work. While the claims of reliability relate to British train services, the report also looks at the wider benefits of rail travel – better use of the working day, comfort, and low stress – which the authors say ‘far outweigh the assumption that shorter travel time equates to greater productivity’.
