Chapter 3.png
  • Alternative fuels strategy

The Commission is consulting on its plans for an alternative fuels strategy, which will form part of the EU’s transport policy for the next 10 years.

[mailchimp_signup][/mailchimp_signup]The Common Transport Policy white paper published in March set the goal of reducing Europe’s dependence on oil, so the Commission wants views on creating an EU transport system that is oil-free and largely carbon-free by the middle of the century. Submissions can be made until 6 October, and one of the areas under consideration is which alternative fuels are best suited to which modes of transport. A draft alternative fuels strategy is due early next year.
