Setting the speed limit within towns and cities at a maximum of 30km/h (20mph) is safer for people and better for the environ- ment. This is why many citizens’ groups across Europe arecampaigning to set urban speed limits at 30km/h; some as part of a wider campaign toimprove the quality of life in urban areas.
