Opportunity to influence EU urban public transport policy
The Commission has launched a debate on a strategy for urban public transport intended to lead to a green paper later this year.
[mailchimp_signup][/mailchimp_signup]It held a “stakeholder conference” in Brussels earlier this month which T&E’s policy officer Nina Renshaw attended. “Things are at a very early stage,” she said, which means there should be plenty of opportunity for stakeholder input.”
There is a background paper to the debate, which sets out the steps towards the green paper scheduled for the autumn. The paper will cover all modes, including walking, cycling, motorcycles and vehicles, plus urban freight logistics.
