The 16 said the risks of the lorries – known by various nicknames but increasingly as ‘gigaliners’ – would outweight potential benefits. The decision comes just a month before the Commission begins work on its Freight Logistics Action Plan, which is expected to announce a study to look at the impacts of gigaliners.
