EU can do more on technology
The MEP responsible for reviewing EU climate and energy policies says the Commission should be doing more to encourage better technology.
Karl-Heinz Florenz, the rapporteur for the European Parliament’s temporary committee on climate change, wants the Commission to make its energy efficiency target of 20% by 2020 mandatory. He also says the aviation and shipping industries should each be set an emissions reduction target for 2020.
