Dutch study shows biofuel impacts
A report for the Netherlands says applying the EU’s target for biofuels to have a 10% share of transport fuels by 2020 would be bad for climate, biodiversity and food prices.
The report ‘Can Biofuels be Sustainable by 2020?’ by six authors has been produced for T&E’s Dutch member SNM. It says the demand for agricultural land for growing biofuel crops will cause big problems.
